Watercolor papers produce softer color than glossy medias, and there is no way around that. Our newest printer and ink combination is designed to optimize color depth on watercolor papers and results are stunning compared to what was possible even 6 months ago. Arches cold press paper is the best of the standard watercolor papers in this regard, but will not produce the same quality image that is possible on coated watercolor papers. Watercolor papers that have been specially treated to allow the ink to stay more on the surface and therefore produce better color, produce the best image quality. Of these, the Coated Watercolor Paper is our recommendation because it is the most economical of the high-end papers and produces a great image. There are a large number of specialty art papers that can be used for unique printing needs. If you don't see a paper that you want, contact us and we probably either have it or can get it.
